Bread Bowls

2&1/2 cup warm water
3 Tbls sugar
2 tsp instant yeast (2 Tbls regular yeast)
- when yeast has begun to work, add to yeast mixture
2 Tbls oil
- mix, then add
4 cups flour
1 scant Tbls salt
- mix together for 2-3 minutes. While machine is still on add:
3 more cups of flour

Continue kneading with the mixture until a stiff dough is formed and the dough cleans the side of the bowl, about 4-5 minutes.

Turn dough into a large greased bowl and let rise until doubled. Mix dough down and divide into 6 equal pieces. Be sure to smooth and round the dough. Place on greased baking sheet. Let rise until doubled.

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

After bowls have cooled, slice off the top and dig out the center (creating the bowl).

Makes 6 large bowls
